En route to the Grand Canyon, we made a stop in Sedona with its famous red rock formations. It's a nice little resort town in a pretty setting, reminding us of places like Breckenridge.
We continued on a long drive north, and as the sun got lower, we were getting nervous about whether there'd be an open camping spot in the national park, or if we'd need to turn around and hit up the Flintstones RV Park we passed 45 minutes back. We first went to the nice RV campground in the park: All full. We then went to the campground meant for tent camping, and lo and behold, we got the last spot!
As the sun was setting, we took a walk to get a brief look before dark at this canyon everyone talks about.
Then, with a fire pit at our site, Ella watched her first campfire and we made s'mores under a gorgeous desert sky.
