RVing in Malibu and Ella Visits the Beach

5:30pm: enjoying a little pre-dinner beach time
While the purpose of this trip is to have an adventure with our little one, our L.A. stop had another important purpose. Ella came to meet her uncles Dave and Robert.

Uncle Robert getting some Ella time.
We've been to L.A. as tourists many times before, so besides family time, we had one objective... To dip Ella's adorable little feet into the Pacific Ocean.

Ella's Uncle Dave helped her into the Pacific.
This turned out to be easy to accomplish as the only reasonable camping spots anywhere near the uncles happened to be on the beach. Night one was spent at the Malibu beach rv park, which was across the coastal highway 1 up a hill, and had the best camping view of the trip thus far.

Blogging by the Beach!

Ella actually had plenty of water time with her first real pool visit with her Uncle Dave. Despite his insistence to the contrary, he is indeed good with newborns.

Nights 2 & 3 were spent at Dockweiler State Beach. This one is literally right next to the airport. Though the airplanes are a tad noisy, it was fun to see them takeoff over the ocean.

See the airplane?

Other cool features of this beach are a super long bike path that Jason used for his run in the mornings and a dozen firepits for beach bonfires. Dave and our friend Will joined us for a cookout one evening at the camper.

Nice spot right on the beach.
After three relaxing nights of uncle time, bbqs, beach camping, laundry, and GOT catch up, we were ready to continue our trip north.
